This year, Safer Internet day will take place on the 11th of February, 2020, as part of a worldwide initiative to raise awareness about online safety, and encourage people to make the internet a safer place as well as a more pleasant and clean experience for everyone on social media.
On my part on this day, I will not only be encouraging social media users to block Nazis, fascists and trolls, I will strongly encourage people to report trolls and bullies, Nazis and fascists. I will also call out the police and any organization who blames victims of online bullying due to not having their profiles private. Having a public profile does not give anyone an invitation to bully or harass that person in any way, regardless of who that person is. Just like rape cases - do not, in any way, blame a woman (or man) for being raped regardless of clothes, alcohol or behavior. I will also be spreading a message that it is not cool to be a Nazi, or an internet troll or a hateful person in general. The message is: If you troll or harass others, we will report you. You think you are hiding behind a bot like name, no profile picture and you do not have followers, but in the end there is no such thing as an anonymous identity.
